Flying Experiences
All of our flying experiences are set in the National Botanic Garden of Wales, providing an incredible backdrop to your memorable time with us.
Whether you are 2 or 92 you can be part of the fun. All of our experiences can be adapted to individual needs and our birds are all trained by us so we know how super friendly they are.
From the moment you confirm your booking* you can look forward to a truly thrilling experience. Other than the small amount of guidance you will receive from our experienced falconers it is all about you flying the birds.

Eagle Experience Wales
Fly the UK's 3 Largest birds of prey yourself. You can now get up close and personal with one of the worlds heaviest owls; a European Eagle Owl and experience the speed and skill of a Golden Eagle and the weight of a White tailed Sea Eagle with the largest wingspan in the world.

Private Half Day Experience
Our most popular Experience! Four different bird of prey species, the individual attention of your own experienced falconer dedicated to guiding you through an incredible two and a half hours. This is a not to be missed opportunity where the whole family can experience the variety of characters we have at The British Bird of Prey Centre and the real thrill of flying these beautiful birds.
Private Owl Encounter
Family favourite! Our Owl encounter features three different species of owl for you to meet and fly. Guided by your own dedicated falconer around the beautiful National Botanic Garden of Wales. With all of our experience and birds suitable for all ages, this is a magical experience for young and old alike.
Private Woodland Walk
Our Woodland Walk is your chance to experience flying in the most natural of environments! Spend one and a half hours in the company of an experienced falconer and 2 of our birds. On a guided tour of the regenerated Botanical Gardens Landscape, the bird follows on and flies to you making this the very best way to enjoy the stunning scenery. The walk can be tailored to individual needs and abilities ensuring a truly memorable experience for all.
Group Flying Experiences
Group flying experiences take place every day at 2.00pm (owl flying) & 3.00pm (Kite flying). Tickets are available, per person, from our Centre shop. The experience is for anyone who would like to realise the thrill of a bird of prey flying free and landing on their gloved hand.
Vouchers are also available as the most cost effective way to purchase.
Private Photography Experience
Available for the individual or as a club/group booking. Our private photography experience provides you with your own dedicated falconer offering a variety of birds of prey for you to photograph. Experiences can be tailored to individual needs, whether static in natural surroundings or in flight. This is a truly exceptional experience for every photographer.
Gift Vouchers
All of our private and group flying experiences can be purchased as a birthday, Christmas or special occasion gift. Our booking system is automated so that you can purchase Gift Vouchers at any time and print them instantly. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months for our private flying experiences which take place daily.
You will fly each bird yourself and as it’s your adventure, whether on your own or with family or friends, you decide how fast and how far you walk.
We will provide you with a falconers glove and introduce you to each bird, so you know exactly who you are flying.
One of our experienced falconers will guide you on your route around the gardens, whilst the birds are flying free never more than a few metres away.
It will be your choice when you call them into the glove, so that you can experience their different styles of flight and get to know their individual characters.
The unique personality of each bird shines through more and more as you spend time with them. You will never want to say goodbye.
As well as flying the birds yourself, our Private Experiences* include entry into one of our award-winning flying displays and in to the Centre where you can relax with a cup of tea, coffee or a soft drink whilst you decide who was your personal favourite!
