As dusk settles and the air turns crisp, step into a winter evening unlike any other at The British Bird of Prey Centre.
The Wings of Winter is a cosy, after-hours owl experience that invites you to slow down, wrap up warm, and discover the quiet magic of owls in the winter months.
Your evening begins with a guided tour of our owl aviaries, where our expert team will introduce you to the owls, share their individual stories, and explore how these remarkable birds are adapted to life in the colder months.
You’ll then be welcomed indoors to warm up with a traditional Welsh winter supper — a hearty bowl of homemade cawl served with crusty bread, followed by rich hot chocolate and a Welsh cake, the perfect comfort as the night draws in.
The heart of the evening is an indoor owl flying show, set against a backdrop of softly glowing fairy lights. Watch as owls glide silently overhead, moving through the space with effortless grace, while our team shares insights into their behaviour, adaptations, and the folklore that has surrounded owls for centuries.
To finish, you’ll have the unforgettable opportunity to have an owl fly to your gloved hand, creating a magical moment, and a photograph, to remember this winter evening by.
Warm, atmospheric, and wonderfully seasonal, The Wings of Winter is a celebration of owls, storytelling, and the quiet beauty of winter.
